When it comes to controlling the many factors that expose companies to
risk, it pays to have someone on your side who knows what to look for.
Take Tim Weir, for instance, a Senior Risk
Control Consultant for The PMA Insurance Group in Philadelphia and
27-year industry veteran. He performs countless risk assessments for
clients and prospects each year, and makes appropriate, helpful safety
recommendations for improving their business operations.
During a recent risk assessment of two
hotels, Tim put his expertise to good use. "I took a thorough
walk-through and looked at everything, including the kitchen and laundry
facilities," says Weir. "I noticed some minor potential hazards and took
careful notes to later make recommendations for addressing them in my
full report."
When a client signs on for PMA risk control
services, the next step is always to begin a comprehensive risk
assessment of their business operations. "We employ a full-service
approach that goes well beyond the proposal," continues Weir. "Our next
step is to learn more about the organization's culture and any existing
safety programs, to discuss and implement safety training measures, and
to work hands-on with the client to improve safety at all levels."
In addition to helping PMA clients and
prospects mitigate risk through surveys and consultation work, Tim takes
risk control with him nearly everywhere he goes. He's been a volunteer
firefighter for nearly 30 years and has been Fire Marshal for his
township for 18 years. Tim is also President of his local fire company's
board of directors. In these capacities, he makes recommendations and
suggestions for minimizing risk in his town and for keeping its
residents and firefighters safe from harm.
At PMA, controlling risk is more than just
our business - it's our passion - and Tim and his fellow Risk Control
Consultants prove that every day. With risk inherent in nearly
everything we do, it pays to have a professional in your corner and a
company like PMA monitoring the bigger picture - for your workers, your
operations and your bottom line.
