An estimated 8,000 workers' compensation professionals from throughout
the southeastern United States and across the country gathered in
Orlando, Florida, August 13 through 16, to attend the 61st Annual
Workers' Compensation Educational Conference. The PMA Insurance Group
had an especially strong presence at the conference.
As a prominent leader in the workers'
compensation industry, PMA President and CEO Vince Donnelly was selected
by conference organizers to kick off the conference. In his 30-minute
keynote address, he presented issues confronting the industry, including
rising medical costs, an aging workforce, an active judicial environment
and the impact of terrorism. Mr. Donnelly challenged attendees to
identify opportunities and initiate change, and reminded participants of
their roles in an industry that makes a difference for thousands of
people every year.
