100 Years:
Elbeco, Inc. Celebrates a Century of Success
Elbeco, Inc., a ten-year PMA workers'
compensation client, produces uniforms for police, fire, emergency
medical, postal, tactical and transportation personnel throughout the
United States. While public service departments choose Elbeco for its
superior quality, value, and service, Elbeco looked to PMA's risk
control services for many of the same attributes.
This year, Elbeco's "City Shirt" operation
in Frackville, Pa., celebrated 100 safe and successful years in
business. Ed Moffett, PMA Risk Control Supervisor (Harrisburg), was
there to help mark the occasion.
Pictured above is the commemorative plaque
presented on behalf of The PMA Insurance Group to Elbeco at the
company's recent 100-year party. "It was a great -celebration for Elbeco
and PMA," says Ed. "We're pleased to be a part of their success and wish
them another safe and satisfying 100 years in business."
200,000 Hours:
Capitol Healthcare Marks an Impressive
Safety Milestone
Capitol Healthcare, a nursing and
rehabilitation facility and PMA workers' compensation client in Dover,
Del., recently celebrated 200,000 total hours worked (nearly two years)
without a single lost- time accident.
Gary Raia, PMA Risk Control Supervisor
(Philadelphia), has worked closely with Capitol to identify exposures
and discuss them with the local safety committee and upper management in
order to find solutions for addressing them. With Gary's assistance,
Capitol has dramatically decreased its accident frequency, increased its
employees' safety awareness, and continually finds ways to avoid
injuries throughout the facility.
