The PMA Insurance Group Names Elaine Manchon, Assistant Vice President, Commercial Markets Underwriting

Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, May 23, 2006 -- The PMA Insurance Group is pleased to announce that Elaine Manchon has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Commercial Markets Underwriting. Ms. Manchon, who will join PMA's Corporate Headquarters staff in the company's Blue Bell, Pennsylvania Office, will be responsible for helping to generate profitable revenue growth at our Commercial Markets operations. PMA's Commercial Markets Underwriting Segment provides insurance products and services to mid-size employers.

For the past eight years, Ms. Manchon has been the Underwriting Manager for PMA's Philadelphia Office, the company's largest Branch Office. She joined PMA in 1993 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in the company's underwriting area. Her insurance underwriting career began in June 1987 with CIGNA Property & Casualty.

"Her focus, discipline, underwriting skills and achievements will prove particularly valuable as PMA continues to expand and seek profitable revenue growth in its middle-market operations."

Ms. Manchon has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Notre Dame.
