The PMA Insurance Group Names James Walsh, Assistant Vice President, Eastern Region Claims

Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, June 12, 2006 -- The PMA Insurance Group is pleased to announce that James Walsh has been appointed Assistant Vice President, Eastern Region Claims. In his new role, Mr. Walsh will lead PMA's Insurance Claims Operations in Eastern Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Delaware.

"Jim has been an integral part in the PMA Claims Operation achieving exceptional performance. We are fortunate to have a claims professional of Jim's caliber to head our highest claim volume region."

Mr. Walsh, who was previously Assistant Vice President, Corporate Claims, Workers' Compensation, at The PMA Insurance Group, joined PMA in 1989 as a Claims Specialist. During his sixteen-year tenure with PMA, he has held several positions of increasing responsibility, including Claims Operations Manager and Manager of Corporate Operations. He began his insurance claims career in 1984.

Mr. Walsh earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Pennsylvania State University. He holds an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation and is completing the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
