William G. Carney Joins The PMA Insurance Group as Vice
President, Product Development and Management

Pennsylvania, June 22, 2006 -- The PMA Insurance Group is
pleased to announce that William G. Carney has joined the
company as Vice President, Product Development and Management.
Mr. Carney is responsible for the corporate underwriting
management of PMA's lines of business and product development
initiatives.

exceptionally strong workers' compensation, underwriting and
product development background to PMA," says Henry Schramm,

business and expand its product and service offerings in the
commercial property, commercial automobile and general
liability lines of business."
Mr. Carney was
previously Chief Underwriting Officer, ACE Workers
Compensation, ACE USA. He has a 27-year career in the
insurance industry, distinguished by positions of increasing
responsibility in the underwriting area. From 2000 to 2002, he
was Deputy Secretary for Compensation and Insurance,
Department of Labor and Industry, Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania.
Mr. Carney earned
a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Management from the
University of Maine at Orono. He earned the Chartered Property
& Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and an Associate in
Loss Control Management (ALCM) designation.
