The PMA Insurance Group Names Anthony J. Ciofani, Jr. as Senior Vice President & Chief Underwriting Officer

Blue Bell, PA – August 16, 2006 – The PMA Insurance Group is pleased to announce that Anthony J. Ciofani, Jr. has been promoted to the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer. In this position, Mr. Ciofani is responsible for the underwriting operations of the entire company, encompassing all of The PMA Insurance Group’s business units—Risk Management Services, serving larger employers with specialized insurance needs, including Captive clients; Commercial Markets, serving a wide range of mid-size employers and PMA Group Programs, focused on associations, cooperatives and other sponsoring entities.

Previously, Mr. Ciofani was Vice President—Commercial Markets, a position he has held since he joined The PMA Insurance Group in 2000. He has 21 years of insurance experience, in which he served in positions of increasing responsibility in the underwriting and financial services areas.

A graduate of Bentley College, Waltham Massachusetts, Mr. Ciofani has an MBA from the University of Connecticut. He has a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriting (CPCU) designation as well as an Associate in Premium Auditing (APA) designation.
