The PMA Insurance Group Promotes John M. Cochrane,
C.P.A. to Senior Vice President of Finance
BLUE BELL, PA – November 15, 2007 – The PMA Insurance
Group is pleased to announce that John M. Cochrane has been
promoted to Senior Vice President of Finance. In his new
position, Mr. Cochrane will lead the combined PMA Capital
and PMA Insurance Group Financial Department.
Prior to his promotion, Mr. Cochrane was The PMA Insurance
Group's Vice President and Controller, a position he has
held since joining PMA in 2003. He has over 20 years'
experience in finance and operations in the insurance
industry. Prior to joining PMA, he was Vice President -
General Auditor at Kemper Insurance Company, which he joined
in 2001. From 1985 to 2001, he worked for Reliance Insurance
Company in positions of increasing responsibility. He began
his career at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co., where he spent
eight years in accounting and auditing roles.

Mr. Cochrane graduated from the University of Pennsylvania,
Wharton School of Business, with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Economics. A Certified Public Accountant, he is a
member of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified
Public Accountants.
