The PMA Insurance Group Names Edward W. Scannell III Branch Vice President - Connecticut & New York Metropolitan Areas

BLUE BELL, PA – January 17, 2008 – The PMA Insurance Group is pleased to announce that Edward W. Scannell III has joined the company as Branch Vice President, Connecticut & New York Metropolitan areas. Mr. Scannell is responsible for leading PMA's Connecticut and New York metro operations, managing the agency distribution network in those localities and achieving profitable business growth for PMA in the region. PMA is seeking to continue its growth in the Connecticut and New York metro marketplaces and to facilitate further expansion, is planning to open a Branch Office in the Hartford, Connecticut area.

Mr. Scannell was previously Chief Operating Officer/Producer with Bouvier Beckwith & Lennox, a West Hartford, Connecticut agency and President/Owner of the specialty agency, Kelly Associates. His insurance career spans 27 years, including insurance carrier experience---Regional Vice President for Peerless Insurance in Connecticut, Vice President and Branch Manager for One Beacon and Vice President/Branch Manager for CGU.

Mr. Scannell graduated from the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He has a Chartered Property Casualty Insurance designation and is a Certified Insurance Counselor.
